Media as Conversation

According to the newest issue of the Economist blogs are changing the face of media interaction. In fact its no longer just news, its a "conversation" between friends, strangers, etc.

The long and short of it is that the newst forms of media, including blogs such as this one, wiki sites, vlogs, and folksonomies have become the new and to some preferred way of gaining knowledge. The wiki principle, as stated in the Economist article, is the idea that many minds are better than one.

What I find so interesting about all this is the idea that for one moment, to one reader, a complete stranger who could be next door or a million miles away might write the article or post that offers up a lifechanging view on any number of subjects. And its kind of nice to know that maybe this is an area free of corporate agenda and filled with just pure unadulterated opinion in its most untainted form.

Read and enjoy, especially if you're interested in the long term ramifications of our ever evolving relationship with the media.
